Evoker macros

Evokers channel the gifts of all five dragonflights, using empowered spells that grow stronger the longer you hold the key to heal, augment or burn down their enemies.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Blessing of the Bronze
    /cast Blessing of the Bronze
    /raid Bronze is up

Casts the raid-wide movement buff and tells the group it is up, so nobody stands there waiting for it. Swap /raid for /party when you are in a five-player group.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Cauterizing Flame
    /cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@player] Cauterizing Flame

Dispels a bleed, poison, curse or disease from whoever you are hovering, and heals them for doing it. Falls back to yourself when there is nothing under the cursor.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Deep Breath
    /cast [@cursor] Deep Breath

Deep Breath is a targeted flight path. Casting it at the cursor removes the confirmation click, which is the difference between hitting the pull and landing behind it.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Emerald Blossom
    /cast [@cursor] Emerald Blossom

Drops your area heal at the cursor rather than on your own position. Preservation wants the blossom on the melee stack, which is rarely where the Evoker is standing.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Living Flame
    /cast [mod:alt] Hover
    /cast Living Flame

Hover lets Evokers cast while moving. Weaving it into your main filler means you almost never have to stop for a mechanic, and one keybind is cheaper than two.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Fire Breath
    /cast [mod:shift] Fire Breath
    /cast Fire Breath

Empowered spells normally charge while you hold the key. Adding a modifier lets one button do both: hold Shift for a snap rank-one cast, press it normally to charge to the rank you want.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Landslide
    /cast [@cursor] Landslide

Places the rooting pillar at your cursor with no reticle step, so it lands across the path of whatever you are kiting.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Living Flame
    /cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead][] Living Flame

Living Flame heals friendly targets and damages hostile ones, so a single mouseover macro covers both jobs — hover an ally to heal, hover an enemy to burn.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Obsidian Scales
    /stopcasting
    /cast Obsidian Scales

Cancels your queued spell and takes the damage reduction now. Finishing an empowered cast while you are being focused is a poor trade.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Quell
    /cast [@focus,harm,nodead][@target,harm,nodead] Quell

Interrupts your focus target if you have one, otherwise your current target. Quell has a 40-second cooldown, so wasting it on the wrong caster genuinely hurts — a focus interrupt macro is the fix.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Rescue
    /cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead] Rescue

Grips an ally to you without changing target. Rescue is a knock-forward as well as a save, so binding it to mouseover means you can pull someone out of a swirly while continuing your own cast.

  • EV
    #showtooltip Source of Magic
    /cast [@focus,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead] Source of Magic

Augmentation and Devastation Evokers hand Source of Magic to a healer for the mana return. Setting the healer as your focus and using this macro means you never have to hunt for them in the raid frames again.

Every class shares the same macro syntax, so a good idea usually ports across.
