Verdant Embrace (Mouseover)

Casts Verdant Embrace on whoever is under your cursor, falling back to your current target and then to yourself. Because Verdant Embrace also flies you to the target, this is the single most important Preservation macro — it saves you from clicking raid frames mid-flight.

Where to paste this

Type /macro (or press Esc → Macros) to open the macro window.
Choose "General Macros" to share the macro across all characters, or "<Character> Specific Macros" to keep it on one character.
Click New, pick an icon — the "?" icon plus #showtooltip makes the button mirror whatever spell it will cast — and name the macro.
Paste the macro body into the text area, then drag the macro icon onto an action bar.
Bind the action bar slot to a key as usual; the macro fires on key press.

Deep Breath is a targeted flight path. Casting it at the cursor removes the confirmation click, which is the difference between hitting the pull and landing behind it.

Drops your area heal at the cursor rather than on your own position. Preservation wants the blossom on the melee stack, which is rarely where the Evoker is standing.

Hover lets Evokers cast while moving. Weaving it into your main filler means you almost never have to stop for a mechanic, and one keybind is cheaper than two.
