World of Warcraft Classic · class

Rogue macros

Rogues are masters of stealth, assassination, and evasion. They rely on speed, precision, and guile to outmaneuver and outsmart their opponents. They excel at picking locks, disarming traps, and sneaking past enemies unnoticed. They are the ideal class for players who enjoy a more stealthy and strategic approach to combat.

13 macros

  • #showtooltip Instant Poison
    /use Instant Poison
    /use [mod:shift] 17; 16

Applies your poison to the main hand, and the off-hand while Shift is held. Poison reapplication is a chore in vanilla and this cuts it down to one key.

  • #showtooltip Blind
    /cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Blind

Blinds a target you are not attacking, so your combo points stay where they are. Blinding your current target wipes the points you had built on them.

  • #showtooltip Sinister Strike
    /cast Sinister Strike
    /startattack

Casts your builder and guarantees auto-attack is running. Auto-attack does not start on its own in Classic, and a Rogue not swinging is a Rogue doing almost no damage.

  • #showtooltip
    /cancelaura Restless Strength
    /equipslot 17 Off-Hand Weapon Name

Drops the Skull effect and swaps your off-hand back. Once the Skull has broken you out of a Blind or Polymorph there is no reason to keep taking damage from it.

  • #showtooltip
    /cast [stealth] Cheap Shot; Backstab

Opens with Cheap Shot from stealth and uses Backstab otherwise. Two abilities that occupy the same moment in your rotation, on one key.

  • #showtooltip Expose Armor
    /cast Expose Armor
    /stopattack
    /cleartarget
    /targetlasttarget

Applies Expose Armor, stops your auto-attack and drops the target so you do not immediately break your own Blind. Lets you spend leftover combo points and still restealth.

  • #showtooltip Sap
    /cleartarget
    /targetenemyplayer
    /cast Sap

Clears your target, picks up the nearest enemy player and saps them. Against another Rogue this is how you win the opening exchange.

  • #showtooltip Goblin Rocket Helmet
    /use [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Goblin Rocket Helmet

Fires your engineering helmet at a hovered target for a free stun. Uses /use rather than /cast because it is an equipped item, not a spell.

  • #showtooltip Kick
    /cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Kick

Interrupts a caster without a target swap. Rogues are usually the assigned interrupt, which makes this the most-used macro in the class.

  • #showtooltip Sap
    /cast Pick Pocket
    /stopcasting
    /cast Sap

Robs the target and then saps them in the same press, so the pickpocket cannot pull aggro before the sap lands.

  • #showtooltip
    /cast Riposte
    /cast Sinister Strike

Uses Riposte when it has procced and falls through to Sinister Strike when it has not, so you never have to watch for the proc yourself.

  • #showtooltip Stealth
    /stopcasting
    /stopattack
    /cast !Stealth

Stops your cast and attack, then stealths without the risk of a second press dropping you straight back out of it.

Every class shares the same macro syntax, so a good idea usually ports across.
